Former vocalist of the legendary rock band, "She is Legend."

Former lead vocalist and guitarist for the legendary rock band, "She is Legend." Also an accomplished lyricist and composer, her major debut album swept the newcomer awards of its release year. Passionate about music, she started up a new "She is Legend" with the six members of Squad-31A. Carefree, friendly to all, and bold when the time calls for it.

Personality

At a glance, Ruka may seem like a capable person due to the fact that she is the leader of Squad-31A, an assault squad. However, those who have ever interacted with her often question her sanity. She pulls out all the stops for her unhinged jokes, and her targets are often her squad mates (especially Yuki, who always responds with a comeback) and Commander Tezuka.

Yet, when she enters her combat mode, she shows her true capability as the leader of an assault squad.

As a musician, she is exceptionally talented. She is both the guitarist and the vocalist of "She is Legend". Most of the band's lyrics and compositions so far has been produced by her.

Trivia

• As the main character, her attribute unlock does not rely on Bond Level but rather Player Ranks.
• Her first SS memoria is considered as SS0 by the community for reasons below:
  • Both SS0 and SS1 are available at launch, hence the issue of "which one comes first" does not exist for her case.
  • It can be obtained by free by all players.
  • Unlike SS1, SS0 has S-like behaviour.
• As a character that have a vocal singer, her voice sometimes changes from her usual talking voice (by Tomori Kusunoki) to singing voice (by XAI). This can be spotted from her SS0 L2D dialogue, for example.
• While, Ruka can be inspired by a number of conceptually similar tomboy-ish female musicians from Jun Maeda's other works, in terms of personality she is the first female representative of his classic main heroes, distinguished by their snarky manner of communication and strong-willed struggle with fate for a new meaning of life.
• Her name in Japanese, Ruka (月歌), can be directly translated as Song of the Moon (月: moon; 歌: song).
• The name of Yuina and Ruka's unison style, 月が綺麗 (lit. "The Moon is Beautiful"), may be inspired by the phrase 月が綺麗ですね (lit. "The Moon is Beautiful, isn’t it?"), famously attributed to Natsume Sōseki as a poetic way of expressing "I love you" in Japanese.
